We are based in Artisans Park in Windsor VT (directly opposite Harpoon Brewery) so a great place to work during the day and enjoy the Park’s recreational activities right on our doorstep after work.

Blake Hill Preserves is a third generation English fruit preservatory in Vermont, creating sweet, savory and spicy jams for the modern pantry.

Inspired by childhood memories foraging hedgerow fruit along English country lanes to create fresh homemade jam, Vicky and Joe launched Blake Hill Preserves in 2009 after discovering an abundance of wild berries on their old Vermont farming property and making jams that quickly sold out at their local village store. Now one of the country’s most awarded artisan makers by focusing on the finest fruits and unique recipes for sweet and savory pairings. We are passionate about the art of fine preserve making.

Blake Hill Preserves is located in Artisans Park, Windsor, VT home to fellow Vermont producers, Harpoon Brewery, Silo Distillery, Simon Pearce and more!

Blake Hill is looking to expand their team yet again with the addition of a candidate to work directly with our executive team supporting financial and business administrative needs relating to sales, production and customer experience at Blake Hill Preserves.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the Owners on the vast business administration needs of a growing business.
  • Handling office responsibilities including, but not limited to, vendor and supply management, organization of production documentation
  • Prepare and post receipts, deposits, purchase orders, invoices, refunds, and other standard bookkeeping tasks
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable; contact delinquent accounts
  • Processing all types of sales from input of invoice to payments
  • Liaise with the Logistics department to ensure timely deliveries
  • Identify and correct miscalculations and financial discrepancies
  • Run and update databases
  • Develop and streamline operational efficiencies
  • Stay current with all regulations, requirements, and laws
  • Compiling monthly sales reports
  • Stay up-to-date with new products and features and communicating changes to the team as a whole
  • Liaison between Executive Team and the Sales and Production Teams; including setting up team meetings, taking minutes and task management
  • Deliver the highest quality of customer service to all customers groups via phone, email and in person

Attributes we'd love:

  • Confident and resourceful individual who can analyse projects and challenges, make sensible decisions and execute effectively and efficiently
  • Experience in Quickbooks Online Management
  • Self Motivated - effective interaction with customers and our team is key
  • Smartly presented as will represent the brand to the outside world
  • Dedicated and Passionate about fantastic customer experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Proven working experience in data management
  • Excellent writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills
  • Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability
  • While not necessary, it would be a bonus to have some experience with CRM’s, Shopify POS and Online Sales Channel and Google Suite.

Certifications/Diplomas/Prerequisites:

  • Degree or High School diploma required
  • Associates or Higher in Business Administration or other related concentrations preferred
  • 1+ years experience in administration or office management preferred
