Gooey British Flapjacks with Fig, Pear & Honey
Beloved traditional British flapjacks we grew up with in England, deliciously moist and gooey, with a special twist of Fig, Pear & Honey for extra sweet & savory sophistication!
Serving Size: 1 square 9" cake tin

10 oz rolled oats

5 oz unsalted butter

5 oz Golden Syrup (Lyle's) or Maple Syrup

4 oz light brown sugar

1½ oz chopped hazelnuts

1½ oz pumpkin seeds

½ tsp sea salt

1 Tbsp lemon juice

Blake Hill's Caramelized Fig with Pear and Honey Jam

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F; grease cake tin

Place rolled oats, hazelnuts and pumpkin seeds into bowl and mix together

Place golden syrup, butter, sugar, salt and ½ jar Blake Hill’s Caramelized Fig, Pear & Honey Jam into small saucepan and gently warm until butter melted and sugar fully dissolved

Pour golden syrup mix over oats mix, add lemon juice and stir until fully combined

Pour mix into cake tin, evenly spreading out without compacting, and bake until top of flapjack turns slightly golden however mix still looks moist, approx. 20 - 25 minutes

Remove from oven, mark squares on surface of flapjack, then cover tin with foil to seal in moistness while it cools

When cool and ready to serve, remove flapjack from tin, slice ~ and Enjoy!
