Tomatillo & Jalapeño Muffuletta
If you have had the original Muffuletta from Central Grocery in New Orleans, you know what a good Muffuletta is. Well we were inspired by the unmatched focaccia made by local baker, The Miller’s Daughter. We bring you a jammy version of this national treasure with our savory chili jam of roasted tomatillos, jalapenos, garlic, onion, dates and spices. This complex, flavorful spread that brings a touch of heat to compliment all of our favorite cured meats and sharp provolone. Get creative and add your favorite pickled or brined veggies. The melting pot of sandwiches!
Serving Size: 4 sandwiches
Focaccia bread (The Miller’s Daughter)
¼ lb prosciutto
¼ lb capicola
¼ lb Genoa salami
¼ lb pepperoni
Provolone (Boar’s Head)
Optional: kalamata olives and sun-dried tomatoes
Blake Hill’s Tomatillo & Jalapeño Savory Jam
Cut bread in half horizontally and spread Tomatillo & Jalapeño Jam on each half
Layer bottom half of bread with deli meats, provolone and kalamata olives (optional: add sun-dried tomatoes)
Place top half of bread on top of sandwich and cut into quarters
Serve immediately or wrap tightly, refrigerate for a few hours for the flavors to mingle, bring to room temperature, and Enjoy!
